CEO, AlpineX
Charles Rutstein serves as the CEO of AlpineX. Previously, he served as the Chairman and CEO at Comlinkdata, a prior Alpine portfolio company. He brings over 18 years of operating experience in growing professional services businesses. Before Alpine, Charles was CEO of RISI, the world’s leading supplier of data and insight to the forest products market. Prior to RISI, he was at Forrester Research, where he rose from a Research Director and Analyst to COO. He started out his career at Price Waterhouse Management Consulting Services, where he was a Principal Consultant. During his tenure at the firm, he wrote a best-selling information security book. Charles holds a BA in economics from Hobart College and an MBA in strategic and entrepreneurial management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Corporate Development personnel and CEOs-in-Training are recruited by Alpine and deployed to work in the portfolio companies. They are compensated by the portfolio companies and are not Alpine employees.
